
Few career choices offer such vast options for employment and personal development as welding.Graduates in the welding program will be trained and perform weld shop safety and proper handling of tools and shop supplies. Graduates will also be trained and perform skills in (OFW) oxy-fuel welding and cutting, (SMAW) stick welding, (GMAW) mig welding and also (GTAW) tig welding in a variety of positions to ensure the students have the skills needed to enter today's workforce. Graduates will also learn to read and perform duties from weld shop blueprints, proper set up and selection of welding equipment, and perform self examination of welds to meet today's standards and specifications. Graduates will gain the ability and knowledge to properly set up, complete, and pass a welding certification test to AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 standards to get their welding career started on the right path. |
