Our program focuses specifically on the training of in-home child care providers who care for children of mixed ages.

The most significant factor in excellent child care is the quality of the child care provider. Results of international research on child care indicate that education of child care providers is directly related to increased social, cognitive, and emotional growth of children.

Professional nannies and family child care providers are not obligated to have more than a minimal amount of training in child care. However, parents continually seek highly educated, competent in-home providers to care for their children. Professional in-home child care providers with an Associate in Applied Science degree will be extremely competitive in the marketplace. They will be uniquely prepared to care for children from infancy through school-age years, to manage the household daily routine, and to expertly operate their child care businesses.

Students will be able to complete their entire certificate and/or degree programs online. The courses are ideal for child care providers who are beginning their careers or already care for children. They may increase their effectiveness and competence through curriculum, guidance, care giving and teaching skills, personal development, and business strategy courses. Student’s child care skills will be directly evaluated during their internships at the end of their training.
