Machine Tool and Die

The precision skills of the tool and die maker are as important as ever in our manufacturing and service processes. The Machine Tool and Die program at Southeast Technical offers the training and education for a rewarding career in the field of precision manufacturing. It is important to first learn the basic fundamentals of machining and then progressively build your skills. Our program has a strong emphasis on learning the basic skills in machining technology. You will be instructed in the use of several different high-tech machines while learning blueprint reading, metallurgy, drawing, and the principles of die and mold making. Our curriculum is based on the philosophy that hands-on is the best way to learn machining and die making. Instructors

• Roger Holland holds an Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Design. He received his Tool & Die diploma from Winona Vo-Tech, 1976 and his Mechanical Design AAS from Western Wisconsin Technical College, 2001. He is continuing his Teacher Education through Bemidji State University, Bemidji, MN. Roger's experience includes: Tool & Die Maker, CNC programmer, Drafting & Design Technician, and Training & Education Coordinator for Trane Air conditioning Company, La Crosse, WI. Roger is an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
• Paul Sorenson holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education from Winona State University, 1987 a Machine Tool Diploma from WWTI LaCrosse, 1977 and a Welding Diploma from WWTI LaCrosse, 1984. His work experience includes Tool & Die Maker (Journeyman), CNC Machinist/Welder (Certified) Quality Assurance and Custom Training instructor.
