Getting a Network ID
Before you can access the network, student email, or online course rooms (Blackboard), you must have a student account. An account is set up for you after you are accepted as a student by the college and register for a course. Your Network ID is normally your firstname.lastname (e.g., Jonathan.Doe).
Pay attention to your name as used by the college. For example, if you go by Joe Doe, but you identified yourself as Joseph Doe on your application, you need to login as Joseph.Doe (lower case is fine).
Logging in to the network
- Make sure the computer is on and at the college's login screen. This
is the default screen in all the labs
- Enter your Network ID: FirstName.LastName (e.g.,
john.doe -- yes, there is a dot between your first and last name.
- Enter your Password: Tech Id Number.
- Make sure the Logon To: STUDENTS is selected (if you don't see this line.. click options).
Logging out of the network
- Make sure all your application are closed and all your work are saved
- Click on Start Then Choose Shut down (Win 2000) or log off.(Win 98)
- Make sure in log off window displays log off option otherwise choose
it from the dropdown menu
- Click on ok to log off
