- Locate your Favorites folder in My Computer.
- The typical loaction is C:Windows/Favorites, however this can vary. Or search for Favorites using the Start Menu Find tool if needed. This is done by going to Start -> Find -> Files or Folders. Find All Files dialog box will open up.
- In the Named text box type the name of the file you are looking for (your favorites) and in the Look in: text box select C:. Then click Find Now. The favorites folder will be displayed at the bottom.
- Copy the entire Favorites folder to a safe place such as a floppy disk, etc. (To copy right click on the favorites folder and from the menu that appears left click on the copy command. Then go to the location you chose to backup the favorites folder.
- Right click to get the menu and left click on the paste command.
- To restore at a later date, simply copy the Favorites from the disk into your New Favorites folder.
Backup Bookmarks in Netscape Navigator
- Open the Netscape Navigator Browser.
- Click on the Bookmarks button then a window called Bookmark opens up.
- From the File menu click SAVE AS. (In the Save As dialog box where the window says Save In, the file name should be 'Bookmark'. Then where is says SAVE AS TYPE, choose ALL FILES. Now click on SAVE).
- The bookmarks can be restored in the future by simply copying the file and going to the C: -> Program Files -> Netscape -> Users -> default.
- Then Right click to bring up the menu and select Paste.
